Art project: My Colorful Fall Tree
• Prepare cardstock or small canvases with a simple tree trunk outline or a pre-painted trunk.
• Invite children to stamp red, yellow, and orange leaves with large sponge stampers, dabbers, or brushes.
• Let each artist choose colors and the number or placement of leaves; take the painting home.
Sensory-friendly adaptations
• Offer paintbrushes instead of finger painting; no child needs to touch wet paint.
• Provide pre-cut paper leaves and glue sticks as a dry alternative.
• Use AAC or picture cards to choose between colors; welcome pointing, gestures, and movement breaks.
